Boko Haram attacking village near Chibok

Armed gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram are currently attacking Kuburvwa Village‎ which is just 10 km from Chibok Town. According to Premium Times, an official of the Borno state vigilante Group, Abbas Gava, who confirmed the attack, said suspected sect members stormed the village at about 6.30 p.m, shooting sporadically into the air.

“As I am speaking to you now the gunmen are setting every house on fire after chasing the villagers away. From the information we have received from our operatives in Chibok and Kautikari, the number of casualty cannot be ascertained for now because the Boko Haram insurgents are still in the village”he said

It occurred at the Boudouaou station when a train headed for the province of Setif, 300 km (186 miles) east of Algiers, caught up with a train ahead that was headed for the town of Thenia, according to the National Rail Transport Company.

At least 78 people were injured in the collision, two of them seriously, the news agency said.

Survivors, rescued by Egyptian Coast Guard members from a boat submerged on its way to Europe at the Mediterranean Sea.

Metwally Mohamed says he knew as soon as he boarded the boat anchored off the Egyptian coast that it would sink.

"There were more people than it could take. A boat that can take 200 had 450 or even 500 on board," he says, his face streaked with exhaustion and grief.

PSG/ Ivory Coast defender Aurier given two months prison sentence for Elbowing policeman

PSG and Ivory Coast footballer Serge Aurier, has been sentenced to two months imprisonment and fined €600 (£521, $674) for elbowing a police officer at a Paris nightclub in May.

Ikorodu Crisis: Lady cries out about the kidnap of her brother in Ikorodu

The leader of a cult group who was over the weekend arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command in Jakande Estate, Ajah area, Lagos suburb, said that no amount of gun-shot can penetrate his body.
